Must be lookback Wednesday… time for a random delve into the deep archives.
So I joined a fieldtrip organised by a co-housing society to see this amazing experimental house in Fife, and I loved it. The walls are made of old car tires with pounded earth, the water is gathered from the grass roof and is filtered through ponds to clean it up and feed the vegetables, there were solar panels and a windmill. The insulation is so good that minimal heating is needed.
I was also blown away by the attention to detail, the greenhouses for growing veggies were made from recycled materials like old plastic bottles.
Oh, we also had some fun camping out on the beach and making music around a driftwood fire. Very congenial.
